Social Impact Plan

Compliance Audits ensure that any and all problems are immediately resolved. These are done by a hire outside of the company to ensure it is properly done and that all areas are covered; store managers and employees maintain strict regulatory compliance on a day-to-day basis. All employees receive guidance and have direct access to the compliance team if any questions arise and are shown where problem areas exist.

Promoting Diversity and Inclusion in Hiring & Employment

Mighty Tree believes that workforce diversity and inclusion is a key driver of internal innovation, creativity, and business growth.

We plan to increase diversity and inclusion amongst ALL levels of the organization by developing a Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Initiative Plan that will be put in place by the end of 2021.  The goal of this plan is to not only increase satisfaction, but increase retention rates amongst women, LGBTQIA+, and POC in our organization by a minimum of 10%.

We will do so by compiling demographic data of our workforce to identify needs and/or areas of concern, engage all hiring managers in Diversity and Inclusion conversations and training, identify policies or practices affecting the DE&I, re-evaluate our hiring procedures, and use metrics such as employee satisfaction and retention rates to track the success of our initiatives.  All managers that make hiring decisions will complete a Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace course by the end of 2022.

All future job postings will be written with literacy inclusion in mind, as well as avoiding any gendered language.

Sustainability Practices

Mighty Tree began recycling cannabis packaging as soon as we were able to with Green for Green. Currently, only about 7-10% of our customer base brings back their empty dram and concentrate containers.  We would like to increase this number to 15% by the end of 2022.

Additionally, we strive to reduce energy consumption and waste by replacing lights in our facilities with LEDs and using environmentally friendly supplies when possible.

We will implement a deal/discount to encourage our customer base to recycle their cannabis packaging, along with better promoting the fact we are able to be a hub for recycling.

We began using biodegradable gloves at all of our facilities last year and will continue to identify other items we can replace with more environmentally friendly options.

We have begun to reduce energy consumption by switching to LED lights in one of our grow facilities.  As of June 2021, we have replaced 15 lights saving approximately 300watts per light.  Additionally, we have employed the use of power strips to reduce the use of phantom energy.

How does Mighty Tree plan to foster participation of Social Equity Licensees/those who have been disproportionately harmed by marijuana prohibition and enforcement?

Mighty Tree has always sought out to carry brands that are either owned or led by women, LGBTQIA+, and POC.  Currently, 10% of our vendors are owned or led by women, LGBTQIA+, or POC.  We will increase that by 5-10% by the end of 2022.

Purchasing managers will continue to research and seek brands owned and/or led by people that have been harmed by marijuana prohibition and enforcement.  We will on-board as many additional vendors as necessary to meet our goal of increasing the percentage of third party product lines owned/led by women, LGBTQIA+, and POC.

Additional Information

Beyond what we have outlined above, we have worked with local food banks to run holiday food drives the past few years through our storefronts to help some of the most disadvantaged members of our community.  This is something we will continue to do.

We often partner with vendors/brand running promotions for good causes – most recently, we were one of only 30 stores in the state to bring on the AWARE-N-US brand as they were donating a portion of their cartridge sales to the Black Cannabis Equity Initiative.

Mighty Tree constantly looks for and identifies ways we can foster participation, help put an end to institutionalized racism, and be a positive part of the Colorado Cannabis Industry at large.
